ANDREA SMITH
Berkeley Summer Programs Associate
Andrea Smith is excited for her first year in Berkeley Summer Programs. While working toward her bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice at the University of Baltimore, she interned and later worked for the Police Athletic League (PAL), leading after-school and summer programs for kids in her own community. Upon graduation, she worked for many years in the Department of Health and Human Services, linking families to resources needed to achieve healthy and happy lives. Most recently, she was appointed to the position of District Court Commissioner for the Maryland Judiciary, where her judicial decisions helped temporarily create a safer community. Looking for a way to foster an immediate and lasting positive impact through her work, she moved to Tampa with her husband and their two children and began working at Berkeley in August of 2022.
